Travelling south to the sunny Puy De Dome in the Auvergne couldn't be easier.

By Air

The simplest way to reach your gite is by air, followed by a 40 min drive from the airport to your front door. Presently flights direct to Clermont Airport is with Ryan Air out of London Stansted Airport. There are a variety of car hire companies at the airport and access to the A75 south to Issoire is easey without entering the city.

By Road

Drive times vary from the north coast of France. Taking a P&O or DFDS ferries  to Calais will give you a 9hr drive south to the Puy De Dome via Paris, try to avaoid in rush hour.

The Channel Tunnel is another route and crossing times are a good deal shorter.

Ferries from Portsmouth to Le Harve or Caen is with Brittany Ferries. We drive from Caen off the overnight ferry and arrive at our front 7 1/2 hrs later. and that's including a lunch stop!

Remember the Peage (motorway toll) is quicker but you have to pay approx £50 one way. The National routes are as direct but slower so for those who want a more sedate drive this is it!

By Rail

Travelling by rail to Paris, Gare De Nord by Eurostar out of London St Pancras couldn't be easier, comfortable and quick. Once there you have a choice of train to Clermont Ferrand out of Paris Gare De Bercy, OR Flights with HOP Air (Air France's budget airline).
